Spanish Club

School: Kamaile Academy Public Charter School
Grade Level: Grades 7-8
Teacher: Alan Gonzalez and Joann Jenks

Driving Question: How can we best learn a new language (Spanish) in the context of everyday activities and topics?

What did the students DO?

Spanish Club students explored learning the Spanish language and culture through participation in everyday activities like game playing and cooking.  Students learned and practiced basic understanding of the Spanish vocabulary by playing card games like Uno or playing Loteria (Spanish B-I-N-G-O).  They also created dishes to share together like helote, mangonada and brocheta.
