Guardians of the Garden | 2020-2021

School: Nānāikapono Elementary School
Grade Level: Grades 3-6
Teacher: Wendy Gumm and Luania Sula

Driving Question: What are the benefits of gardening?

The students of Nānāikpono Elementary School became guardians of the garden despite COVID-19 restrictions. A few days throughout the months of hybrid learning students were able to get their hands dirty in their school garden. The teachers and students managed to conduct a few plant giveaways, manage a garden on wheels and participate in live cooking and art activities via video conferencing. Despite challanges, the garden and the students blossomed!
