Then and Now

School: Kamaile Academy Public Charter School
Grade Level: Grades K-3
Teacher: Rosie Carpenter, Kathy Yager

Driving Question: What can I learn from Hawaiian games from long ago and now and can I have fun with my family and friends, playing them?

What did the students DO?

Through participation in a variety of board games, outdoor games, music and dances, the Then and Now group compared tradtional Hawaiian games and activities with their contemporary versions.  They enjoyed experientially making their way from the past to the present of each.
